2011 Mike Singleton and Chris Wild
Platforms: Apple iOS and other current platforms.
As part of the launch and release of The Games That Weren’t book, we are adding assets and content that didn’t make it to print as bonus DLC content to share with you.
Within the book is an in-depth and detailed 12 page story about the unreleased Eye of the Moon which was planned for development on modern day platforms including Apple iOS, after the cancellation of the 8-bit title in the series. We speak to Chris Wild about plans for the game and take a look at the ideas and vision from the late and great Mike Singleton.
Working with Chris, Mike saw an opportunity to finally bring the series to the conclusion he wanted and which it deserved. Tragically, Mike would fall ill – but this would give him impetus to put pen to paper and get ideas down with Chris. With Mike’s sudden passing in 2012, the conclusion was never to be.
Whilst researching the game and discussing with Chris, he very kindly provided hand written notes from Mike (which can also be found on Chris’ website – see resources below). We have added these here for you to check out, as well as a PDF document about the game that Chris compiled. There is also a hi-resolution scan of a rare screenshot from the ZX Spectrum version which can be found in the gallery below, along with screenshots from the original Lords of Midnight game (ZX Spectrum and recent iOS edition).
