Hellowoon was a graphic text adventure that was released on the Atari ST and C64 around 1987 by Ariolasoft, and was written by Guido Henkel.
In an interview on Atarilegend.com, Guido reveals that the game went through a number of iterations, and was actually started originally on the Commodore VIC-20.
The game was abandoned, but then later resurrected on the C64 (before being abandoned again and then did a completely new game on the ST that was later ported down to the C64).
We suspect that the original VIC-20 game was just text compared to the released version and that it evolved a lot over the years. It would be fantastic if something of the original development could be found and digitally preserved.
We hope to hear back from Guido soon to see if that might be a possibility.
