Guardian Moons

1989 Microdeal

Platform: Atari ST

According to ST/Amiga Format’s preview of our next unreleased game entry, Guardian Moons had you in the control of a sadistic and psychotic terrorist who has to go around causing chaos and destruction everywhere. The objective would be to destroy eight guardian moons that protect the peaceful planet of Gargamadua.

From the limited screenshots, the game seems to be a sort of Transbot-style game, but its hard to tell. Details about what you do exactly in the game are quite sparse.

The game was listed as due for release sometime in 1989 at the price of £19.95, but would disappear without a trace not too long after the initial magazine previews.

So what happened to it? Well, it looks like Microdeal ceased trading around 1989/early 1990 time and is likely why the game was never released. We’re not sure how far exactly it got either, so its still early days.

AtariMania’s entry on the game lists Alex Herbert as a musician, so its hoped he can be contacted to find out more about the title.

In the meantime, if you know anything more about the game, please do get in touch with us.

With thanks to Ross Sillifant for highlighting and Amiga Magazine Rack and AtariMania for the scans.
